We made the owls out of paper mache and balloons. The eyes are felt and the feathers are tissue paper. We created the nests too... Uncle Shane is especially good at this.
I made owl stuffies for the party favors...each has a little heart on it's butt. Ever's 1st birthday was so much fun. Instead of going crazy with planning, I kept everything pretty simple; paper pom poms and tulle instead of streamers, potted fresh flowers instead of helium balloons. Mom did most of the baking and Dad pitched in with a couple of sky-high cream pies.
Even though it thundered outside, we had tons of fun with all of our family and friends. What a super great day!
