Meet Hershel. He is our newest pet.
Hershel enjoys long swims around his only friend, Shark and extended naps alongside the tank- engulfing plant, Plant.
Hershel is needy. He needs to be fed, not once a day like the dogs, but twice a day... 4 microscopic little balls of food that require special magnifying glasses to see.
He needs to have his light on- but not all day, just part of the day else he won't know when to sleep and sleep is, apparently, very important for fish like Hershel.
Hershel's water has to be changed once a week even though he has a filter and pretty red rocks and bubbles to play in.
And we do all this for a two-year-old that would probably not notice if we taped a paper look-a-like to the inside of the tank. Hmmm...
